In the pantheon of children’s classics, this places it in a category of one. Nobody lies awake wondering if Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is a realistic portrayal of candy-based supply-side economics, or whether The Muppet Christmas Carol accurately conveys the social tensions of Victorian Britain.
